About the role

As Head of Global Quality Systems Operations, you will set the strategic direction and ensure consistent excellence in our global quality management systems. You’ll lead the continuous improvement and digital transformation of quality processes at Takeda, working collaboratively across business units and regions. Your leadership will support compliance, operational effectiveness, and the successful evolution of our Global Quality organization.

How you will contribute

  • Lead and continuously enhance Takeda’s global One QualityManagement System and digital platforms, driving innovation and compliance with evolving regulatory standards.

  • Develop and maintain strong governance and business process frameworks for key quality systems, ensuring transparency, accountability, and harmonization.

  • Champion a culture of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement across global teams and functions.

  • Provide strategic direction for the Global Business Process Ownership (BPO) framework, enabling consistent quality governance and oversight of One-QMS processes, maintaining transparency and accountability.

  • Provide oversight and accountability for Takeda’s NorthStar Digital Quality Systems, covering QMS, Documentation Management System (DMS), and Learning Management System (LMS), to ensure robust digital integration and operational efficiency.

  • Oversee critical quality processes (such as Change Control, CAPA, Documentation Management, Annual Reviews, and Training), encouraging adoption of effective digital tools and data-driven practices.

  • Guide digital integration efforts for our quality, documentation, and learning management systems.

  • Implement monitoring mechanisms, including KPIs and dashboards, to proactively identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities across the GxP enterprise, enabling data-driven decision-making and compliance excellence.

  • Provide expertise and leadership during regulatory inspections and support health authority communications.

What you bring to Takeda

  • Advanced degree in a scientific or technical field (at least Bachelor’s required) and significant leadership experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.

  • In-depth expertise in international quality standards, regulatory requirements, and quality systems management.

  • Demonstrated success in leading diverse, global teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration.

  • Ability to be an agent of transformation across the enterprise and elevate the knowledge, capabilities and change-readiness of immediate collaborators.

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills to drive strategic projects and digital transformations.

  • A can-do attitude, resilience, and a passion for continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team development abilities.

  • Ability to present, convince and influence senior stakeholders in English.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for innovation and digital solutions.

  • Learning agility and championing new ways of thinking.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$208,200.00 - $327,140.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
