Purpose
The Head of Ethics & Compliance strategically leads Takeda Türkiye’s ethics culture, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, driving ethical decision-making and ensuring agile, innovative compliance solutions aligned with Takeda’s values and vision.
Role Core Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Values & Ethical Leadership:Act as a role model for Takeda's values and ethical decision-making, embedding this mindset across all stakeholders (clients, partners, teams) to support priorities of Patient, Trust, Reputation, and Business.
- Strategic E&C Program Oversight: Strategically lead and oversee the delivery of the Ethics and Compliance (E&C) program in Türkiye, ensuring alignment and integration with Regional and Global E&C objectives.
- Governance & Committee Leadership: Chair the LOC Risk Ethics and Compliance Committee (LOC RECC), providing strategic direction, oversight, and decision-making support related to compliance risks and initiatives.
- Cross-functional Leadership & Integration:Actively engage as a senior member of the LOC leadership team, embedding E&C principles in business decisions across cross-functional teams (Legal, HR, IT, Business Units).
- Communication & Best Practice Sharing: Lead effective communication of E&C best practices, challenges, and experiences to enable robust implementation of compliance initiatives across the organization.
- Investigations Management: Facilitate and conduct investigations in collaboration with Global/Regional teams, ensuring comprehensive resolution, timely reporting, and effective remediation of material cases.
- Documentation, Policies & Procedures: Ensure establishment, maintenance, continuous updating, and effective communication of ethics policies, procedures, and documentation aligned with global standards and regulatory requirements.
- Audit, Monitoring & Risk Mitigation:Provide strategic oversight of auditing and monitoring programs, including the timely follow-up, escalation, and resolution of compliance risks identified through audits.
- Compliance Training & Engagement:Accountable for the strategic oversight, completion rates, effectiveness, and continuous enhancement of E&C training programs and employee engagement initiatives.
- Transparency & Regulatory Reporting:Oversee accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance of regulatory transparency reporting, disclosures, and other mandatory reporting requirements.
- Third-party Compliance & Risk Management:Provide strategic oversight of compliance risks related to third-party interactions, ensuring robust due diligence, risk assessments, and effective mitigation plans.
- Compliance Systems & Technology: Oversee the strategic management, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of compliance-related systems, tools, and applications, leveraging innovative solutions and analytics.
- Regulatory Intelligence & Proactive Risk Management: Strategically anticipate, identify, and proactively respond to regulatory changes and emerging compliance risks, ensuring preparedness and adaptive compliance strategies.
- Ethical Culture Development:Foster and sustain a strong ethical culture by establishing platforms for speaking up, structured onboarding programs, ongoing employee engagement, and regular culture assessments.
- Compliance Metrics & Reporting:Define, track, report, and communicate comprehensive compliance KPIs and metrics to senior leadership and global stakeholders to drive continuous program improvement and compliance maturity.
Role Mandatory Responsibilities
- Information Security Compliance:Act in full alignment with Takeda’s Information Security Policy and Acceptable Use of Technology Policy.
- Quality Ambassador: Promptly communicate product quality issues or concerns to the Quality Team.
- Integrity & Ethical Conduct: Consistently demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior, exemplifying Takeda’s core values (Takeda-ism) at all times
- Training & Policy Adherence: Ensure timely completion of all mandatory global trainings and full adherence to Takeda’s policies and procedures.
- Speak-Up Culture: Proactively raise integrity or ethical concerns in good faith to the Ethics Line, your first-line manager, or the Ethics & Compliance Team.
Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BA) in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Industry Experience:Minimum of 12 years proven experience in Healthcare Ethics & Compliance within the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, or medical device industry.
- Language Skills:Fluent proficiency in Turkish and English (spoken and written).
- Emerging Markets & Cultural Awareness:Proven experience working across emerging markets with diverse cultures, regulatory environments, and legal frameworks.
- Leadership & Influence:Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and build strong relationships within diverse, multicultural teams and stakeholders.
- Regulatory & Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, compliance frameworks, and industry best practices (e.g., Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Privacy, Sanctions, Anti-trust).Ability and lead and influence external stakeholders, industry rules by engaging with external industry associations and bring best practices into Takeda E&C strategy.
- Risk Management Experience:Understanding different angle of business and actively detect ethical and compliance risk by engaging with different functions. Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills, effectively articulating complex compliance topics clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ethical Decision-Making:Proven track record of applying ethical decision-making frameworks to complex business situations and innovative initiatives.
- Strategic & Crisis Management: Demonstrated strategic compliance oversight, including crisis management, regulatory intelligence, and proactive adaptation to regulatory changes.
- Technology & Innovation: Experience leveraging technology-driven compliance solutions, analytics, and innovative tools to proactively identify trends and enhance compliance effectiveness.
