Job Title: Medical Advisor
Location: Ho chi Minh, Vietnam
About the role:
This position is responsible for providing strategies for medical affairs within a specific Therapeutic Area of vaccine. He/she will contribute to the achievement of business success by putting the patient’s needs, diagnosis, prevention, access to our medicines and safety into primary focus by leveraging the understanding of Vietnam’s healthcare system and local regulations to evaluate the possibility of local pre-authorization/ investigational medicines.
How you will contribute:
1. STRATEGIC PLANNING
Leads the coordination between the local and global teams to plan and implement early access programs in compliance with our strategy
Responsible for creating and executing the Medical Plan, aligned with both the Brand Plan and the Regional Medical Plan (where relevant)
Provides medical/scientific input into the Brand Plan and is a member of the cross-functional Brand Team
Utilizes in-field insights to support medical and scientific strategy and business development
Develops medical strategies through effective and appropriate collaboration with MSL team
2. CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION THROUGH MEDICAL EXPERTISE
Leads the implementation of key medical activities (e.g. Advisory Boards, Focus Group Meetings, medical education and peer-to-peer training activities)
Creates or support the development of medical/scientific materials and slide decks as needed,
Leads the identification of educational opportunities that are aligned with Takeda’s medical education strategies and Provides scientific support for continuous medical education (CMEs)
Creates and delivers relevant TA (s) training to Local teams as needed
3. CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
Contributes or provides medical review of promotional materials for scientific meetings, symposia and other Medical Education activities, in accordance with applicable to Codes of Practice and local regulations as well as Takeda policies within defined timelines
Ensures that the scientific-medical content as compliant with local regulatory norms and internal compliance rules
Ensures compliance of all responsible activities to relevant laws and regulations as well as internal standards and SOPs
Supports the company reputation and profile by representing the company on cross-company boards as needed
4. EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
Responsible for representing Takeda in the therapeutic area by providing an expert medical voice with external stakeholders as needed
Establishes sustainable relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), government officials, healthcare organizations and ensures that significant developments in the field are identified and monitored
Assesses the local healthcare landscape and anticipates changes and meets with key stakeholders to address the health system gaps, e.g. on diagnosis or early patient access
5. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
Shares medical insights in the relevant TA to cross functional colleagues
Provides medical and scientific input in the relevant Therapeutic Area(s) to cross-functional stakeholders, including marketing, regulatory, market access / alliance functions and others as required
Advises other teams on medical and scientific matters, including but not limited to scientific approval of promotional materials. Provides medical and scientific training to internal stakeholders as needed
Develops and executes data generation/dissemination plan for the relevant Therapeutic Area (s) in line with the Medical Plan
Provides leadership and medical expertise in the development of clinical research programs in line with global strategies to support local product registration and marketing
Supports the Medical Lead in planning and implementing programs as needed and as per local regulatory requirements for products within TA(s). Explore the opportunities for early access to innovative treatment, disease prevention through clinical trials, named patient program, individual patient request.
Provide medical expertise in the review of adverse events locally and contribute to global pharmacovigilance activities.

What you bring to Takeda:
Medical Doctor or Post-Graduate Degree in Pharmacy/ Life Sciences (Ph.D., Master) …
3-5 years of experience in driving and managing the medical strategy for various brands in the pharmaceutical industry, vaccine experience is preferred.
Excellent leadership, managerial, interpersonal and relationship building skills
Very strong scientific expertise, preferably in the therapeutic areas mentioned or in other specialty medicines. Good knowledge of healthcare systems
Highly collaborative, confident and strong communication skills. Excellent presentation skills
Strategic thinker, innovative, able to drive multiple-simultaneous initiatives, able to work under pressure
Able to drive consensus across diverse stakeholders to achieve goals
Ability to identify and proactively addresses issues before they reach crisis points
Goal oriented, focused, energetic, and enthusiastic
Passionate and committed in all undertakings
Fluency in English both verbal and written
A high level of knowledge of regulatory environment including key regulatory agencies and approval processes relevant to the country
