OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:

  • As an DD&T RIM System Engineer, you will support the Global General Council (GGC) Record and Information Management operations through collaboration with different Data, Digital, and Technology (DD&T) functions including Enterprise Architecture, Foundational Technology Platforms, and Enterprise Data and Analytics to ensure the integrity, maintenance, and management of content archival systems and data classification initiatives.  
  • The DD&T RIM System Engineer will act as a Subject Matter Expert has advanced technical knowledge of core Records and Information Management archival systems and is responsible for supporting the daily systems operations and administration for those systems and infra-structure.
  • You will support record (structured data) archival: data classification, record retention, record ingestion, record(s) retrieval and data transfer initiatives.  Respond to both standard and non-standard requests, Participate in architectural design, development, customization, and integration of solutions related to Records and Information Management archival systems. Collaborate with DD&T colleagues and Business Unit/Business Functions to provide data migration, transformation and ingestion solutions for record archival, data classification, and records retrieval.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Own infrastructure design and analysis, plan application installations, upgrades and migrations, monitor Records and Information Management structured archival system health and performance, and make recommendations for configuration improvements.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues that arise during testing and in production.
  • Perform installations and upgrades while maintaining them in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Serve as point of contact for question and escalations related to Records and Information Management archival systems.
  • Lead the design of structured data migration and ingestion of business records into the company’s archival system, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability. 
  • Support standardization, customization and ad-hoc data analysis, and develop the mechanisms to ingest, analyze, validate, normalize and clean data.
  • Define data requirements, gather and organize structured data for data archival including manifest file, and validate data.
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather business requirements for data retention, security and retrieval needs.
  • Lead the creation, design and testing of data migration and ingestion activities.
  • Support other application teams during migration and performance testing.
  • Provide technical consulting for teammates and application teams for data naming, classification, design, and data security controls for data to be ingested into the archive.
  • Support secure data transfers for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures packaging data, generating manifest files, and maintaining audit trails.
  • Develop documentation for training, software use, user procedures, and as-required project deliverables.

  • Administer Records and Information Management Structured Data Archive.
  • Design and execute extract, transform and load data migration processes. 
  • Lead the ingestion or migration of data from legacy systems to Records and Information Management Structured Data Archive.
  • Develop deep technical expertise in data movement patterns, practices, and tools.
  • Oversee the delivery of design specifications, source to target mapping documents, and unit testing documents.
  • Support secure data transfers for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures packaging data, generating manifest files, and maintaining audit trails.
  • Build reports using business intelligence tools to display data contained in the Structured Data Archive.

  • Contributes to future improvement of software delivery processes and operations.
  • Enable Records and Information Management, data stewards and end users to leverage Takeda data to develop advanced reporting, data and analytic solution.

  • Supporting the GGC Record and Information Management Function.
  • High multicultural sensitivity in order to be effective. 
  • Ability to drive the team for results through remote collaboration.

  • Knowledge of health care and retail operations (preferred).

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent and confirmed relevant working experience.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in leading data migrations and extract, transforming, and loading data from source to target systems.
  • Proficiency in managing relational databases such as Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle.
  • Strong in SQL and Python programming, optimization of large data sets, data pipelines, and understanding of ETL tools.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in managing, maintaining, and optimizing databases.
  • Ability to design and implement database structures, including tables, indexes, and relationships.
  • Skill in optimizing database performance through query optimization, index tuning, and other performance tuning techniques.
  • Understanding of database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Proficiency in tools such as SAP Business Objects, Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Power BI for creating interactive and visually appealing reports.
  • Strong SQL and query skills for querying databases and retrieving data for report generation.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts to design efficient and optimized data structures for reporting.
  • Experience in creating complex reports with drill-down capabilities, dynamic filters, and inter-active visualizations.
  • Understanding of security and access control mechanisms to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and data privacy regulations to ensure compliance during data transfers.
  • Understanding System Requirements and Designing, Developing, and Testing Technology Services.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with multifunctional DD&T teams and Business Stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated aptitude for collaboration with other strategic partners.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Desired: 

  •  Strong experience in AWS native technologies and in managing and maintaining Relational Databases.
  • GxP and computer system compliance and SDLC a plus.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.
