Lead, Global Leadership Communications (Senior Manager)

About the role:

The Lead, Global Leadership Communications will help develop the strategy to engage Takeda’s top senior leaders across divisions and will take a leadership role in executing on the strategy and tactics, with a mindset of continuous improvement and alignment to Takeda’s strategy. This includes planning the annual in-person Takeda Leadership Conference. The position also has additional responsibilities for executive communications and special projects related to Takeda’s global communications. This position reports to the Head of Global Leadership Communications and Employee Engagement within Global Communications/Global Corporate Affairs.

How you will contribute:

Designing and executing annual internal leadership conference

  • Taking a lead role planning and developing the in-person Takeda Leadership Conference through project management, content development, digital platforms, measurement and seamless coordination across divisions. This involves working with leaders and subject matter experts at all levels.

Creating and delivering events and communications that engage Takeda’s top 250 leaders

  • Managing and delivering a regular cadence of business updates for leaders, involving cross-functional partnership, a focus on company milestones, and an always-on approach to determining what leaders need to be most effective. Developing and leading a multi-channel strategy for leadership engagement, including building and managing internal channels (e.g. Teams, intranet, app), hosting virtual meetings, implementing measurement tools and executing everything with a mindset of continuous improvement based on data and analytics and high standards.

Executive communications partnership

  • Working with General Counsel, Business Development and Corporate Strategy leaders (TET) on executive communications needs.

Special global communications projects

  • This includes action-planning from communications-related feedback in annual employee survey and communications coordination and planning around major company milestones and priorities. This role will also have a focus on improving our ways of working to drive best-in-class and connected communications (and communicators) across all business units, functions, countries and sites, regardless of reporting, including acting as an early adopter and champion of communications technology (comms tech).

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience leading and planning high-profile events and leader presentations.

  • A high level of comfort with comms analytics and ability to extract insights for strategy creation.

  • Proven self-starter who continually looks for new opportunities to maximize impact and improve outcomes without specific direction.

  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, patience and discretion in handling challenging and confidential situations.

  • Advanced in applying innovation to highly complex situations, making improvement recommendations and guiding others in content and creative ideation processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a strong attention to detail and comfort using Excel to manage detailed databases and timelines.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead by influence.

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field, or relevant work experience.

  • A minimum of four years of experience in corporate communications, with event planning experience that has involved leading agenda development and content creation.

  • Experience working in an international structure and with varied cultures.

  • Experience managing external communications agencies and video production.

  • Design skills and interest in expanding design and video production skills using AI.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint) with strong digital literacy and learning mindset.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

133,000.00 - 209,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
