About the role:

The Employee Relations Partner supports employees and leaders on progressive discipline, performance management, conflict resolution, and other employment matters ensuring a consistent, equitable, and respectful experience. Responsible for providing expert guidance and coaching, they serve as a key partner in handling a wide range of complex and highly sensitive employment situations and must maintain confidentiality and engage with employees at varying levels of the organization. Primary location - California/remote, Secondary location - Massachusetts/hybrid.

How you will contribute:

  • Serve as a case manager for employee relations issues responsible for investigations, proper documentation, and providing recommendations and coaching.
  • Effectively support investigation and response to claims of harassment, discrimination and compliance related matters including investigation plans, interviews, documentation, formulating findings, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Work closely with legal counsel and compliance to ensure accurate assessment of issues and risk while delivering appropriate outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice, coaching, and assistance to management to address an array of employee conduct and performance issues and grievances with fluctuating levels of complexity.
  • Maintain communication with appropriate parties and leadership on status, recommendations, and diagnosis of trends that may need attention.
  • Contribute to ER best practice education, policy development, and guidance to leaders regarding HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Work closely with Leave of Absence, Occupational Health, Security, Information Security, Legal and Compliance to ensure cross collaboration on employee relations matters.

Dimensions and Aspects:

  • Leadership - This is an individual contributor role that requires the understanding of and ability to model leadership behaviors.
  • Decision-making and Autonomy - The Employee Relations Partner will advise and make recommendations on most employee relations matters and will be expected to consult and escalate with the appropriate partners to limit risk or exposure.
  • Interaction - This role will require interactions at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Interactions should model Takeda's values at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Employee Relations, 7 years HR experience.
  • Experience with exempt and non-exempt workforce required, pharmaceutical manufacturing or scientific industry preferred.
  • Familiarity and comfort with state and federal employment laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner, and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Strong conflict management skills, diagnostic skills and the ability to manage a high volume of cases.

Primary location: California, fully remote.

Secondary location: Massachusetts, hybrid requiring at least 5 days onsite each month.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$111,800.00 - $175,670.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
