Job Description

Job Title:Market Access Manager

Location: Egypt

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Working in close collaboration with the Commercial Lead and Corporate Affairs team on the development and execution of industry leading Innovative Value Access Strategies, Alternative Reimbursement Models (ARM) where possible, Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) as well as pricing & reimbursement strategies and tactics to unlock access and strengthen health care.

  • Develop metrics and KPIs for Innovative Value Access Solutions and monitor progress against plan, highlighting any deviation and propose options to rectify any issues or delays

  • Alignment with Corporate Affairs team on institutional readiness/ gaps/ capability and skills building to ensure institutional readiness to adopt innovative treatment in a coordinated approach.

  • Demonstrates the adequate customer centricity to build a relationship based on trust and respect; and performs all his/her activities strictly within Takeda code of conduct and compliance guidelines.

  • Partner to localize global value dossiers for local submission to private funders ensuring information reflects local situation.

  • Track tender request and assess opportunities applications and prepare, and lead tender relevant submissions aligned with the strategy agreed with the Corporate Affairs/Medical and Country Head in a timely fashion.

  • Use solid value arguments with supporting clinical data, health economic and budget impact analysis (BIA) models for submission and discussion with managed care organizations/ pre-approval bodies by TA 

  • Manage HTA discussion with relevant HA

  • Map key stakeholders and build a local network of influencers/ decision makers and develop engagement plans through payer/ economic advisory boards, individual interactions testing strategies to asses market readiness and refine solutions prior to implementation

  • Has a deep understanding of the country healthcare structure to be able to manage the transition to UHI on payer, HCPs & purchaser level.


Cross functional collaboration

  • Working closely with the Commercial/Corporate Affairs/Medical teams to:

    • Implement the defined stakeholder management plans/strategies defining overlap between public and private stakeholders

    • Report on successes and progress on a monthly / quarterly basis

    • Together with the Corporate Affairs team identify risks/opportunities including changes in policy and governmental priorities that may potentially impact the local Takeda strategy or medicines

  • Collaborate with other internal stakeholders when requested (Corporate Affairs, Finance, Medical) contributing to Takeda processes such as MRP, MYC, launch readiness/brand plans, business reviews, etc. and provide them with required information/assumptions as well as ensure cross functional alignment and linkage on pricing and that the access plan evolves and remains relevant


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: 


Education

  • Bachelors’ degree or higher, preferably in health economics, medicine, economic or scientific education

  • 5+ years’ experience in Pharm/Biotech company in a management role

  • 2+ years’ experience in pricing/market access related role

  • Proven track record in payer’s management and implementing innovative access programs to broaden access


Core competencies

  • Strong understanding of access solutions available, acceptability into local market based on laws

  • Value Evidence Generation: RWE & Health economic / outcome studies partnering with key institutions to drive change and improve healthcare

  • Disease and Innovative approaches to Access

    • Oncology/SC/RD and new product launch experience 

    • Access expert incl. principles, funding, payor& purchaser insights & affordability

    • Patient centric Approach & with a strong focus on Patient support

    • Execution excellence Implementation and maximization revenue

  • Strategic Thinking & Partnership Development

    • Analytical with strong operational/ execution skills

    • Good communication and skills presentation

    • Ability to simplify complex issues and define to drive outcomes
