JOB LOCATION: Cambridge, MA
POSITION: Research Associate II
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Vaccines, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate II with the following duties: develop, perform, and troubleshoot immunological, virological, and molecular biology techniques to support viral vaccine programs in a BSL-2 environment; perform cell culture (primary and transformed) for vaccine candidate development and experimental needs; design and execute immunoassays to measure vaccine efficacy and target engagement, ensuring reproducibility and accuracy of results; utilize bioanalytics techniques, including protein quantitation and characterization, to assess therapeutic protein functionality and pharmacokinetics; write and execute automation scripts, use liquid handling systems, and manage samples via basic LIMS and electronic lab notebooks; interpret data and compile reports for team and company presentations, applying scientific literature to improve experimental design; collaborate with team members on projects and provide recommendations for project and method improvements; ensure compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures in all laboratory work. Less than 5% domestic travel required for training and congress.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Biotechnology or related field, plus 2 years of related experience. Prior experience must include: immunological, virological, and molecular biology techniques - use various lab techniques to support viral vaccine programs, including immunoassays, cell culture, and molecular biology methods (such as PCR, ELISA, etc.); bioanalytics and protein characterization - utilize protein quantitation and characterization skills, as well as assessing therapeutic protein functionality and pharmacokinetics in biological samples; automation and liquid handling - work with automation scripts, liquid handling systems, and basic laboratory management tools like LIMS for sample inventory and management; data analysis and scientific reporting - interpret experimental data, assemble reports, and present findings clearly, while applying scientific principles and ensuring adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Full time. $87,000.00 - $133,000.00 per year. Competitive compensation and benefits.
