Job Description
The Senior Vice President Data, Digital and Technology (DD&T), Plasma Derived Therapies (PDT) is responsible for managing and performing work across multiple areas of the organization's IT platform and infrastructure. This role aims to optimize the organization's technology landscape, aligning strategies with business objectives to enhance operational efficiency and value and will partner with the business unit (BU), Takeda executive team (TET) members, Chief Digital and Technology Officer and the extended data, digital and IT leadership teams.
This key senior leader is expected and encouraged to develop a deep understanding of Takeda’s business. At the forefront for success in this role is the ability to effectively balance a two-speed environment: the new world of innovation enabled by rapidly changing technology, and the established world of defect-free, stable execution. A deep understanding of Takeda’s business imperatives is paramount and needs to be balanced with thoughtful and creative disruption through digital technologies and contemporary data analytics capabilities.
How You Will Contribute:
- Set PDT DD&T strategy, including identifying and curating goals and needs that can be addressed through digital and analytics use cases, supported by technology and data.
- Develop and implement contemporary and thoughtful strategies that enable and bring to life our DD&T imperative to fully and creatively unlock the power and potential of the organization.
- Implement the BioLife Transformation plan as outlined, while looking to continuously improve over time.
- Support the BioLife growth projections from infrastructure to innovation, looking for artificial intelligence (AI) tools and automating processes.
- Support non BioLife functions inside PDT by being a subject matter expert and business partner; suggesting and managing tech solutions with end-to-end support.
- Steward of the PDT DD&T budget, with TCO perspective and optimizing for value (while driving adherence to standards).
- Accelerate and enhance the partnership with Takeda’s businesses to leverage and create collaboration and acceleration at scale.
- Be a talent attractor, developing and cultivating a followership of technical professionals that embrace change and embed digital technologies into the support and advice offered. Build and manage a high performing team, partnered with the business and capable of leveraging the larger Chief Digital and Technology Office (CDTO) organization.
- Ensure BU adherence to architecture standards (set by Architecture Council) and data standards (set by Global Data Council).
- Drive innovation, incentivizing data and digital proofs of concept (fail fast, learn faster); fund high-potential use cases.
- Using data to make decisions and holding the BU accountable for using data to make decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering. Graduate degree preferred.
- Extensive Retail Pharma/Healthcare knowledge, multi site support experience
- Extensive experience in digital strategy, data management, or technology leadership roles preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotech/healthcare industries.
- Proven track record of success in leading/managing large-scale technology projects, digital transformation initiatives and data driven decision making processes, especially in an innovation environment.
- Technical proficiency and experience with modern and up and coming technologies/solutions such as cloud computing, big data, AI and machine learning and industry leading digital platforms and their application in regulated industries
- Experience working with global regulatory bodies and ensuring technology compliance in highly regulated environments
- Senior DD&T leader, highly skilled in stakeholder management with history of successful people leadership across functions and domains
- Deep understanding of commercial technologies (e.g CRM, omnichannel platforms, master data management)
- Track record in leading DD&T talent and delivering major projects / programs
- Strong understanding of external business environment and industry trends

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
