OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • The Pricing Data & Governance Expert will be responsible for supporting Takeda’s Global Pricing & Policy (GPP) team with price governance processes and ensure the timely availability of accurate pricing data to support data-driven decision-making
  • The role requires a strong analytical mindset and proficiency in utilizing pharmaceutical pricing databases and tools and effective partnership with pricing data stewards and pricing stakeholders to drive processes and collaboration
  • The aim being to be able to (1) understand business needs, (2) access and input required data from/into EDB and other sources, and (3) transform this data into standardized reports / insights for the business teams. Such tasks occur periodically, with high frequencies depending on the processes and data requirements

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Deliver pricing governance and pricing data availability and data integrity to the GPP team through activities such as:
    • Access pricing requests from regions/countries on list price changes, launches and withdrawals and facilitate price changes/finalization in Takeda’s price management system (PriceRightUnity, PRU) based on documented pricing guidance and predefined template by working closely with country affililates (LOCs), Regions and GPP stakeholders
    • Support standard pricing processes for global brands including price verification review (PVR) and price assumptions review (PAR) process
    • Support the performance of data quality check in pricing platform for price launch and price change request and follow up with initiating and impacted countries to validate expected price changes where required
    • Ensure data accuracy in collaboration with regions and LOCs and embed data consistency checks (e.g. data comparison across internal PRU system vs. external Pricentric database)
    • Be involved in or drive automation initiatives for pricing governance processes (change requests management and tracking, pricing assumptions and validations (PAR/PVR) compared to data from Finance systems, data quality rules setup etc)
    • Provide pricing analytics support including development and enhancements of dashboards, data modelling and ad-hoc support
    • Answer ad-hoc pricing queries from LOCs or regional teams (e.g. provide list prices information across countries)
  • Participate, where necessary and appropriate, in pricing processes such as:
    • Run IRP analysis to estimate the cross-country IRP risk and share analysis with relevant stakeholders, closely aligning on request and expected IRP impact
    • Support the timely input, and validation of key assumptions to run a launch planning analysis: price listing and introduction timelines, expected price and expected unit sales
    • Support standard pricing processes such as running pricing models, presenting pricing cases, pricing certificates, other standard pricing analytics, etc
  • Work towards embedding the ICC GPP delivery team’s capabilities towards supporting GPP pricing excellence
  • Work effectively across functions and geographies with a focus on customer needs to achieve goals and ensure stakeholder alignment.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Essential

  • Bachelors / master’s degree in science, economics, pharmacy, MBA
  • 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical pricing and market access acquired at leading industry companies or relevant consultancy companies
  • Understand pharmaceutical pricing governance and pricing data reporting and data management
  • Proficient in word, excel, PowerPoint, analytical tools, basic VBA knowledge & working knowledge of Power BI
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to draw insights/derive implications from the analytical research
  • Process-oriented with good project management, multi-tasking skills, analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication & team collaboration skills, comfortable working with an international cross-functional team and stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and experience of working in multi-matriced organizations with a growth/continuous learning mindset
