Job Description
About the role:
The Associate Director, Operational Excellence contributes in promoting the culture of Continuous Improvement and providing OE tools. You will ensure the site OE deployment is aligned with OpU strategy and is implemented to global standards. They ensure CI principles are built into the site master plan, maximizing product flow and value added activity across the site. They ensure that the AGILE program supports site programs, the development of a continuous improvement culture, and shares best practices with the Plasma network and adopting network best practices.
How you will contribute:
Lead the AGILE team (formerly the "Operational Excellence Team")
Lead the AGILE program for the Covington facility and organize main initiaitves across its workstreams (Operational Excellence, Lab Excellence, Digital, End-to-End Supply Chain, Site/Network Development, and People, Culture, and Change)
Lead the site problem solving and lean capability growing efforts to ensure the culture on site has a foundation in continuous improvement at the operating team levels.
Lead the site in execution of problem solving and lean waste reduction by guiding hands-on activities at the operating team levels.
Lead the nomination, mentoring, and certification of Lean and Six Sigma Green Belts and Black Belts and aligning projects to site strategy and results
Lead a data-driven culture that uses digital platforms to build predictability into business processed.
Ensure thoughtfulness in project execution, phase requirements and timing to ensure DMAIC methodology is deployed with appropriate thoughtfulness and effectiveness
Set and coordinates goals and performance management goals for the OE department
DMAIC training and team facilitation
Present at company-wide sessions on projects, and multi-tasking and prioritizing projects
What you bring to Takeda:
Typically requires bachelor's degree, preferably in science, engineering or other related technical field. 8+ years of related experience with 3+ in a management role
3 years of experience in bio/pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or life sciences industry is desired
Previous Lean/Six Sigma green belt or black training/certification
Follow all safety and quality requirements
Strong negotiation, influence, consultation, and facilitation skills
Superior interpersonal and coaching skills and be motivated and self-directed with a proven record of results
Advanced PC skills such as MS Office, process mapping software, Minitab, current Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 9001:2000 experience, Federal Drug Administration experience is a plus
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills; ability to drive change and motivate others towards a common vision
Emotional intelligence and sensibility for the culture and communication structures of a big organization
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills; excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Must have strong analytical, organization, project management, and interpersonal skills along with knowledge of manufacturing processes, re-engineering strategies, and continuous improvement activities
Must be able to train others and work with employees on all levels; must be able to work extended hours and various shifts
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs
In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
