About the role:

Join Takeda as a Senior Manager, GI² Statistics, you will partner with colleagues from many functions that span R&D (e.g., pharmacology, chemistry, imaging, translational sciences, computational biology, experimental medicine) to Commercial (patient services, sales, marketing, medical information). You will be empowered and independently represent the Data Science function on projects leading data strategies related to diseases, assets, or other areas of interest in Takeda's ecosystem. You will also lead project delivery directly related to global project teams or other functions.
How you will contribute:
- Work independently on all statistical aspects of development for Takeda R&D assets for GI² TA covering design and analysis from early clinical to registrational studies, including development plans, complex study designs, and cross-study analyses including statistical methodology, interpretations, regulatory submissions, and follow-up.
- Perform beginning-to-end data analyses, from data strategy to objective formulation, to data exploration and insights, to hypotheses formulation, experimental design, writing analysis plans, data cleaning and curation, executing analysis, to interpretation and preparing reports with documentation.
- Conduct data-driven decision-making in a multidisciplinary team environment by providing a high level of statistical rigor to the analyses and interpretation of complex data generated.
- Collaborate within a matrix environment with cross-functional team members to identify and develop appropriate goals for data science work (for example identifying sensitive and endpoints for segmenting patient population, tracking disease progression, quantifying quality of life).
- Work closely with Takeda statisticians and other quantitative experts to ensure statistical issues in data analysis are addressed as needed.
- Implement process and best practice changes through delivery risks. Communicate internal and external resource and quality issues that may impact the deliverables or timelines of the program. Propose and implement solutions. Escalate issues to management as appropriate in a timely manner.
- Attend scientific conferences and stay abreast with the latest developments with an eye toward acquiring supportive data that can help augment internal data.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and associated data analytic techniques, external databases, and novel methodologies that can help Takeda derive the maximum value out of data.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ph.D. (degree in statistics/biostatistics or in other sciences (requirement of Data Science / Quantitative Science) with ~2+ years experience in statistical/quantitative statistical environment.
- MS (degree in statistics/biostatistics or in other sciences (requirement of Data Science / Quantitative Science) with ~6+ years experience.
- Experience in clinical study designs, analysis methodology, and data interpretation.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and overall drug development process with expertise in the interfaces with the Statistics function.
- Strong background in statistical modeling in R or SAS with the ability to independently code relevant programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

This position is currently classified as "remote" in accordance with Takeda's Hybrid and Remote Work policy.
Base Salary Range: $ 130,000 to $ 186,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
